At the 1919 Peace Regatta, the Australian Army crew won the King’s Cup, presented by King George V.
That original trophy is now awarded annually to the fastest State crew in Australia.
With the kind permission of Her Majesty the Queen, Patron of Henley Royal Regatta, military crews in 2019 competed for a newly commissioned King’s Cup and a presentation sword.
The Midshipman of the United States Naval Academy won the event.
Commemorative medals were awarded to the winning crew and pins to those who participated plus their military leaders at subsequent events in each Nation after the event.
All prizes contain hugely significant contributions from each of the competing nations contributions including from two Royal Households, America’s first President, Canada’s first Parliament and Australia’s War Memorial.
